Dear Friends,
A new American President took office today. For many it is a sad day. For many others it is a hope for a bright future. No matter where you stand, today is truly a day of change for this country. I hope and pray that as this change comes that our new leaders will choose to follow Biblical principles. That they will choose to protect innocent life. That they will fight to preserve our freedoms. That they will choose to do good. However, ultimately what will be the game changer in our country will not be the government.
It will be US…you and me!
Christians will be the change. They will make a choice to speak up for truth. They will make a choice to serve. They will make a choice to get involved. They will make a choice to pray. They will make a choice to love. Or they will not…
God calls us to Humble ourselves and PRAY.
2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
That is what we ALL want. We want our country to be healed. God can do that, but he often uses men… sinful men (that is all of us by the way, however some of us are redeemed) to bring his purpose. Many different times in scripture people were not happy with the rulers of the day, yet GOD used it for their good. He used it to bring a nation of people back to him. Will you let this drive you to your knees? Will this draw you to seek God’s ways? Will this cause you to live your convictions? OR will this discourage you? Will you hide your beliefs? Even worse will you just not care? Complacency is the death of any good thing and could very well be the death of this country.
Instead, I encourage you to be who you are both in private and public. Live what you believe. Be willing to stand for your beliefs, but humble enough to admit when you are wrong. Do not just be a ‘good moral person’… LOVE JESUS, fully, passionately, boldly, and completely!
Blessings sweet friends…
