~Our Faith is in the Lord Jesus Christ~

Why I'm blogging...

Welcome to our lives, our farm, and our family. Here is were we give you a view into our daily walk. I pray that it might encourage you while giving you a real life glance deeper into our lives. May we honor the Lord in all we do and say. My greatest hope is that anything you admire within our family points you right back to the Lord Jesus Christ and our love for HIM.

I love to blog...I love to share...so why don't I do it more often?

I have high hopes (dreams) of being an inspirational blogger.  I love to share, often times with a bit of sarcasm, where we are in this messy state called life.  I want others to see how God is working in my life.  I want to remember these things for myself.  So why do I only do it every 6 months or so?

LIFE...life gets in the way of me being able to share about my life.  If I don't live it, I can't share it.  If I spend too much time sharing it, then I am not living it.  What a crazy cycle I have yet to get balanced.

I last left off with our Big Sandy trip in April. Since then Miss M turned 10...  She never ceases to amaze me with her talents.  She is sweet, loves fancy things, loves updos, fingernail polish, and more.  She tells me she will grow up and own a hair salon where she will do hair, with her own bakery next door so she can feed people her yummy treats.

SJ turned 4 (!)  She keeps us laughing, sometimes to the point of tears.  We do our best to not laugh when she is naughty...but she can be SO naughty.  Telling me things like "God told me I don't have to go to sleep at night.  He tells me his secrets!".

Miss Leelee turned 7.  She has had a hard year.  Being diagnosed with scoliosis has left her in a body brace.  She wears it like a trooper.  She is extremely intelligent (and she knows it!).  She is a competition swimmer who often wins awards in her age bracket.  It is one area she can excel despite her back limitations.  Poppy and Meme love this girl!

We also shared Miss Leelee's special birthday once again with our Wedding Anniversary.  She was our gift for our 18th anniversary.  This year we celebrated 25 years of marriage!  I feel so blessed.  Our girls cooked us a special dinner and dessert.  They served us it on a decorated table in our room, complete with candlelight and music.  They tried so hard to bless us.  It will be a precious memory to us for years to come!

A dear friend of mine Mrs Latham and her children accompanied me and my younger children to visit some friends the Determan family after their recent move to TN.  We spent 12 hours, driving the 9 hour drive, with 13 children, 2 mommas, one who is expecting another precious blessing!.  We had to pull a trailer just to be able to fit all the necessaries for the trip.  It was great fun.  We stayed 4 days.  Ate and ate... swam in the creek...celebrated Miss M's birthday...played in the yard...had singing contests and generally a LOT of fun friend time.

We mommas cooked three meals a day for 23 children and 4 adults.  We would barely finish cleaning up until it was time to start again.  However we solved many of life's problems over homemade pizza, baked potato bar, and more.  Just imagine how many pizza's we made from scratch for this crew!

A day in the kitchen...no air conditioning... and lots of pizzas left three sweaty mamas!  And some of my best friends ((HUGS LADIES!))

The last two exciting events to finish off our summer were...  Mother's day pictures where almost all my kiddos were home.

I am so blessed by this man!  (did I say that already?)  He loves the LORD.  He loves me and is so committed to his family.  He took a great job promotion this year.  A lot of travelling for training, but it challenges him in ways that thrill his heart.  He loves to learn new things and he is smart enough to actually do it.

Our annual 4th of July party at the Elliott's home.  Grandma and Leelee always go with us.  It is a fun time of water balloon fights, volleyball, fireworks and food.  Grandma likes to stay on the porch and keep the little ones company.  Little Man didn't mind one bit!

This takes care of May through July...at least my year is current, right?  I plan to be back with our fall update before all the leaves fall off the trees.  Until then...Keep your eyes upon Jesus...
