~Our Faith is in the Lord Jesus Christ~

Why I'm blogging...

Welcome to our lives, our farm, and our family. Here is were we give you a view into our daily walk. I pray that it might encourage you while giving you a real life glance deeper into our lives. May we honor the Lord in all we do and say. My greatest hope is that anything you admire within our family points you right back to the Lord Jesus Christ and our love for HIM.

Pour on the blessings…

God has been convicting me once again of my speech, the looseness of my lips when answering. Often in my quiet times I will read that a wise person is filled with discretion. They will control their tongue. They will be kind when they speak. I often struggle because I want to be truthful, but when the truth is not always honoring what do you share? I pray often for the Lord to help me remember that I can tell truth, but that doesn’t mean I have to tell ‘all the details’.
In the book of James 3:9-11 we are reminded “With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring?”
This morning my heart was grumbling. I was thinking all the things I wanted to change in those that I love. Conviction stepped in and I was burdened that I need to share what I’m thankful for TODAY about each of those people.

~My beloved woke early and cooked a wonderful breakfast, but even went further to make me my own omelet with extra peppers and onions added in! For a man that hates onions and peppers, he must really love me!!
~Kim sent me an email saying “I really love you mamma”
~Josh blessed our family by playing melodious music during school giving us some peacefulness in a time of chaos.
~Joe cooked us a wonderful snack last night…homemade lemon bars from a cookbook and this afternoon…oatmeal, chocolate chip, peanut butter cookies.
~Mrs K has mastered her math speed drill, speeding up from 10 minutes to less than 5 today.
~Miss M loves school and I had to limit her to 6 pages a day, but when she’s done she takes her little sister and niece to play together while the rest of us work.
~Miss A loudly asked ‘Please sharpen it’ when her pencil lead broke. My ‘little baby/toddler’ has now grown up to be a child. She’s so tiny and sweet! Where did my baby go?
~Leelee, with her cute curly brown hair and beautiful smile said ‘wan cookie!’ and then waited with her mouth open expectantly for a bite of Joe’s specialty.
As I look back over this day, how can I afford to be grumpy or complain? I might just miss out on all the blessings God has for me in the form of my family. Pour on the blessings…

Waist Not, Want Not (spelled correctly!)

Yesterday was an exciting day for Miss K. Our dear friend Hattie arrived with scissors in hand to trim Miss K’s hair. It’s been 5 years since her last haircut other then bangs.WOW…her waist length hair is now a much more manageable length. She looks so cute! I am so blessed by Miss K and her sweet heart. May her sweet smile bring joy to your heart!
